Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Amendment Rules, 2025

Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Amendment Rules, 2025

On January 31, 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) notified the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Amendment Rules, 2025. These rules update the 2020 framework to broaden the scope and efficiency of Aadhaar-enabled services.

Area Details
Expanding Authentication Scope

Wider Participation: The amendment now permits both government and non-government entities to utilize Aadhaar authentication for providing services in the public interest.

Beyond Governance: While the 2020 rules focused on preventing fund leakages and improving ease of living, the 2025 update encourages digital innovation and stronger partnerships between the State and private sectors for improved service delivery.
