Evidence Found on Early Metallurgy in Dima Hasao A recent archaeological reconnaissance survey in the Dima Hasao district of Assam has shed light on early metallurgy in the region. The discovery provides important evidence of iron-working and settlement activity in Northeast India. The findings strengthen the understanding of early metallurgical traditions in the region and indicate that organised iron production and habitation activities existed in Dima Hasao.
