Vibrant Villages Programme Phase II The Vibrant Villages Programme Phase II was launched on February 20, 2026 in Assam. It expands development support to India’s border villages and combines infrastructure creation with livelihood generation and strategic security. Border villages are important not only for development but also for national security. Better roads, telecom, power, water supply, tourism and employment can reduce out-migration and keep frontier regions socially and economically active.
