6th BIMSTEC Summit

The 6th BIMSTEC Summit was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 4, 2025.

The summit was organised under the theme “Prosperous, Resilient, and Open BIMSTEC”.

Bangkok Vision 2030	A roadmap adopted for long-term regional development.

India-Led Initiatives

Initiative	Details
BIMSTEC Chamber of Commerce	Establishment of the BIMSTEC Chamber of Commerce.
Disaster Management	Establishing the BIMSTEC Centre of Excellence for Disaster Management in India.
Space Cooperation	Setting up ground stations for manpower training, manufacturing and launching Nano Satellites, and using remote sensing data for BIMSTEC countries.
BODHI Initiative	BIMSTEC for Organised Development of Human resource Infrastructure; under this, 300 youth from BIMSTEC countries will be trained in India every year.
BIMSTEC Energy Centre	The BIMSTEC Energy Centre in Bengaluru has started working.
BIMSTEC Games	India will host the first BIMSTEC Games in 2027.
Maritime Transport	Establishment of the Sustainable Maritime Transport Centre in India.
