On 13th October 2025, the Uttarakhand government approved a major amendment to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

The amendment simplifies marriage registration procedures for foreign nationals, particularly citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet.

Aadhaar Relaxation Marriage registration can now be completed even without an Aadhaar card.
