According to the Vital Statistics of India based on the Civil Registration System (CRS) report for 2023, the country recorded 2.52 crore births and 86.6 lakh deaths. Key Highlights of the Report: Number of Births: 2.52 crore births were registered in 2023, which is around 2.32 lakh fewer than in 2022. Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) Scheme, 1975 The Scheme has been renamed Anganwadi Services. It is 1 of the World's largest programmes providing an integrated package of services for the holistic development of the child. Funding: Centrally Sponsored Scheme. All components of ICDS except the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) are financed through a 60:40 ratio. For SNP = 50:50. The North East states have a 90:10 ratio.
